Aye well it's because the PH is alienating all it's genuine hardcore gay clientele, and the only kids that wanna go there now are as you describe - charva slutz. They're welcome to it far as I'm concerned. Such a shame the Powerhouse is dead.

Here here. I think Powerhouse was seriously ill when it moved from Waterloo Street, and it was on life support at Times Square, now it only has months to live.

What this city needs is a Gay/lesbian club not one that doesn't care who you are as long as you've cash in your pocket and suppresses incidents of gay lads being attacked by (so-called) straights on its premises.

what all the pubs and clubs need to be think is that if the drinks are cheap ish then a lot more people might come out to plat i think the drinks are far to much money for what it is...... its cheaper to drink in manchester than the toon

What also annoys me about that place is the amount of glasses on the pumps. There seems to be a wide variety of drinks but your stuck with disgusting draught lager or Red C Cider. All at a rip off price.
Does anyone know if there is any movement on the Glasshouse (working name I think) or the extension of The Loft?
I would much rather go to The Loft any time if only I could persuade the people I go out with.

First powerhouse was the best seedy, dingey, it at that atmospheric stylee that it dont have now. When it moved from waterloo street, to 2nd powerhouse, that was just a shambles but it was still resonbly cheap and stil hosted a good night overall, powerhouse 3 was ok, bit to big more like a warehouse than a night club, prices went up people stopped going, ,music went sh*t, then the new powerhouse as of now, is prolly the best since waterloo street powerhouse. I personally like the hardhouse room for the music.. im a old skool racer at heart(charv), i like my boucy tunes, and yes i take pills when im ut not all the time but now then... and yes half the room takes them aswel, but we have a good night no body starts fights and we are all in the same world on the same level, peoploe down stairs dont like this coz they dont take drugs or like charvas etc... not everyone is a tenni boppa and not everyone likes pop music.. if you gave them a chance you would find that yes they may look at junked up charva or a smacked up camp queen... but we do actually smile and have fun and dont argue. The main thing the club needs to focus on, is the ammount of straight people that get in there, they`ve got all their pubs on the newcastle straight scene but yet they choose to come drink in ours!! Hooorah to battling the drugs problem that the club has, but not enough attention on the straight problem in hand. Get rid of the straights, moderate the drugs problem, and lower the prices on the door to old powerhouse days and the club will swing back into place before you know it!

Lovedough, you said, "i like my boucy tunes, and yes i take pills when im ut not all the time but now then... and yes half the room takes them aswel" then went on later to say, "Hooorah to battling the drugs problem that the club has". Is there not an inconsistency here? On the one hand you say that many clubbers including yourself take drugs into the club and use them there and yet you praise the management for curbing this very activity. I don't mean to reduce the power of your opinion about the "Straight Invasion", it's just the drug bit i don't quite understand. You seem to be saying that illegal drugs are OK for you and your friends and not OK for anyone else.

yeah it did seem to confuse yah...
I like drugs dont get me wrong not many people do, not people dont, but there is a drug problem in the club that needs to be dealt with, doesnt mean get rid of the drug problem just reduce it. I dont drink so i take sweets, but each to their own.

Drugs mess up the minds of those who take them. I rest my case.
